A BUTCHER from Ingleton is preparing to beat off other purveyors of fine meats to scoop a coveted title.
Pearsons of Ingleton is one of the front-runners in the North of England category of the 2008 awards, which celebrate the best of British butchery.
The Main Street meat merchants, who took over the business three years ago, will be visited over the coming weeks by judges who will test the quality of the shop’s produce and much more.
The team which has already picked up prizes for its pork pies, blackpudding and specialist sausages – will find out if iy has been successful in November.
