Ten individuals are going through a 15 month in-house management training programme. Spilt into 2 teams the highlight of the scheme is an Apprentice style business challenge – to design, make, brand, package and sell sausages.
With a budget of just £500 the teams are working with Complete Meats to produce the best tasting sausages. Of course sales and profits are key, so the teams have been busy pre-selling them to local businesses such as farm shops and also have a pitch reserved at Axminster Market this Thursday (12th September).
Scores will also be awarded for innovation, communication, leadership, negotiation and other important business skills. Unlike the Apprentice, no-one will be fired, but the winners will be treated to a weekend in London with their partners, whilst the losers will meet at a local café and then clean the warehouse!
Profits from this as well as other challenges the trainees have been working on will go towards Children’s Hospice South West.
