COMPLETE Meats have been celebrating after picking up two first place prizes for their sublime sausages at a regional competition this month.
The firm’s new Denhay Cheddar and Chive won the speciality pork sausage class and their black pudding was top of the class with one judge proclaiming ‘this has got the X factor’.
Judges at the British Pig Executive road show commented on the high standard of South West entries, with half achieving the gold award, compared to less than one in three elsewhere.
Local sausage fans are invited to create their own sausage recipe for British Sausage Week 2008, entry forms are available from Complete Meats in Fore St, Chard or at their shops in Axminster and Honiton.
The winning recipe will be made and go on sale at Complete Meats, as well as £25 of meat vouchers for the winner.
The closing date for entries is Thursday, October 23, at 5pm, and any money raised from donations will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
