BPEX launches the Foodservice Sausage Awards 2010
The best pub bangers in the business are once again being invited to compete for the prestigious title of Best Pub Pork Sausage.
The Publican has again teamed up with BPEX to find the best sausage being served to pub customers as part of the Foodservice Sausage of the Year competition.
The Best Pub Pork Sausage Award is one of five categories in the competition. The pub category is open to any sausage currently being served by a pub chain or independent pub.
BPEX foodservice trade manager, Tony Goodger, said: “Given the popularity of sausages on pub menus, this competition gives pub chefs a chance to show why their sausages – and indeed their establishment – stand out from the crowd.
“We know that pubs that have previously done well benefit from some real paybacks, in terms of creating a point of interest on menus and generating sales, after all customers are always keen to try award winning products for themselves.”
Three finalists will invited to take part in a grand final at Butchers Hall, London, on 22 October, where the winner will be announced. The closing date for paper entries is Thursday September 2, after which samples will be required for formal judging.
