Sausage festival returns with a bang to Lincoln in October

On Saturday, October 25, the grounds of Lincoln Castle will again provide the setting for what has become one of the most popular events in the county calendar, say organisers.

Last year’s festival saw a whopping 32,000 sausages sold, and organisers the Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia and Select Lincolnshire are hoping this year’s will be even bigger and better.

Councillor Colin Davie, Executive Member for Economic Development, said:

“This year’s festival will again have plenty to get the tastebuds tingling, and more than just our famous sausages to tempt you.  We’ll have a wide-range of stalls with some of the very best of the county’s produce, including Redhill Farm Free Range Pork, Cote Hill Cheese and Mountain’s Boston Sausage.”

“And besides the great food, there will be live music and entertainment throughout the day from The Europa Clowns, Matto and Polo, and the Cosmic Sausages.”

“We also have children’s cookery demonstrations in the Redhill Farm Free Range Pork marquee, which have been specially designed to appeal to youngsters and, most importantly, to make cooking fun.”

Entry to the festival is free and the castle grounds will be open from 10am to 4pm.
