Ribble Valley Free Range Meat Company

The Ribble Valley free range meat company was recently formed by the Beary family who have years of experience farming livestock.  They are committed to providing the finest quality, traditional meat from their pedigree herd of rare-breed Gloucester Old Spot pigs.  They hit the news recently as they diversified into beer sausages and we couldn’t wait to try them!

Cumberland and Black Pudding

Combining the flavour of the cumberland sausage and the texture and flavour of the black pudding is genius.

This time my wife and I were assisted by our son Henry (who is about 16 months old), my 10 year old nephew and my sister in law. Everyone loved them and my son Henry was mortified when they had all been eat!

Traditional Recipe

This could be the perfect breakfast sausage?   The Free Range Gloucester Old Spot flavour in this traditional recipe sausage is perfect.  The texture of the meat is not too coarse and not too smooth.

Although we ate this sausage for breakfast (and it was ideal) we could have equally eaten it anytime of the day, even cooked it on a BBQ and it would have maintained that well rounded appeal.

Garlic and Herb

Another brilliant sausage!

We loved the strong(ish) garlic flavour which was ofset perfectly by the herbs.  There were five of us sampling these sausages (although my son, who is 16 months is less able to vocalise his opinion!) and it really was a draw between this and the Cumberland & Black Pudding.  Ribble Valley Free Range Meat Company is an incredible find.  Make sure you sample their sausage offerings as soon as possible!
