Powters picked up the coveted Best Manufacturer/Own Brand Sausage award for its famous Newmarket Pig sausages, beating off strong competition from a host of leading sausage producers.
Alongside this top award, Powters also achieved a ‘Highly Commended’ award in the Innovative category with its spicy Chilli Pig sausages.
The prestigious industry competition, which takes place during the much-publicised UK Sausage Week (28th October – 3rd November), judges butchers and sausage brands across the UK and has become the cornerstone awards for the great British banger.

A great number of producers enter the UK Sausage Week Awards each year, including some of the UK’s largest food companies hoping to pick up one of the coveted awards and gain the raft of additional publicity that is created throughout the week. “This is a fantastic time of year for sausage producers,” continues Tristan. “The week falls between Halloween and Guy Fawkes when sausages are always a popular choice so we are hopeful this award will boost sales and recognition of our range of traditional sausages.”
