Specialist Polish sausages made in Northern Ireland are being snapped up from supermarkets across the UK.
Kabanos, the brainchild of a Polish migrant and a local in the meat processing business, is bidding for the big time and is now in negotiations with Tesco over its 43 strong range of sausages and pies, it was revealed yesterday.
Experienced sausage makers have been recruited from the Polish community in Northern Ireland to feed the demand of their kinfolk across the UK and Ireland.
The company has gone from strength to strength after being given start up aid and development advice by local agency, Invest Northern Ireland.
Kabanos was established in Coleraine in 2006 by local man Robert McAfee and Tomaz Michaski, who brought the traditional sausage making techniques from his homeland.
