Lower Royal George Sausage Appreciation Society

22 January 2011 3 Comments

I can’t believe that for almost as long as I’ve been running Sausagefans.com (and now Sausagefans.co.uk) some fellow sausage lovers in Huddersfield have been running a sausage club.

I spoke earlier to Steve Lowe of the Lower Royal George Inn in Scammonden about the club which started after locals tried some particularly good sausages from his menu.  He is heavily involved in the club and his wife, Margaret, cooks all the sausages which are supplied by members of the club.  Hopefully I will have the chance to go along in person in February to the society, which has members from Huddersfield, Halifax, Leeds and Cheshire.

This has to be a destination for a Sausage King Adventure I think.

To say I’m excited about this discovery is an understatement and Thank you to the Huddersfield Daily Examiner for putting the news out there.

The big problem I have is which sausages from whom should I take along?  Let me know your thoughts below.
