Liz Hurley’s bangers are proving popular in the Cotswolds

SUPERSTAR Liz Hurley has swapped the silver screen for sausages.

The actress’s bangers, which come from her 100-acre farm at Ampney Knowle, are going down a storm in the Cotswolds and doing a sizzling trade at Cirencester butchers Jesse Smith.

The shop is mincing like mad to keep up with demand for the Hurley Old Spot bangers, bacon and joints.

Liz, 43, once said: “I’m obsessed with sausages. I’d like to eat them every day.”

Jesse Smith manager, Perry Meredith, said: “Her pigs are excellent quality. The breed provides a good flavour. It’s a different taste altogether.

“We use the whole pig. It produces beautiful Sunday roast joints as well as prime bacon and sausages.”

Assistant manager Andy Lambert said the celebrity sausages were the in thing.

He said: “We often eat them for breakfast and we love them. The pork has a good farmhouse flavour and texture. Old Spots are our best sellers and people recognise the name.

“They must have heard she’s gone into farming. Now they’re snapping them up. Liz has been in herself with her husband Arun and bought the sausages, and they like them.

“The pork’s got a great covering of fat which is also great for crackling on the joint.”
