Shoppers scoffing “Lincolnshire” nosh may not be getting what they bargained for.
It has emerged that a dish called Taste of Home Lincolnshire Sausage Hotpot by manufacturer Heinz is actually made in Germany.
And adding a further serving of confusion for consumers, no regulations on what the sausage recipe includes are currently enforced.
Under EU laws, the name of the county’s famous banger can currently be slapped on any product, meaning shoppers are getting a different variation of the recipe with every dish.
