Champion of Champions 2010

I am delighed to have been invited once again to join the panel of judges at this year’s Champion of Champions sausage competition.

The quality of entrants is always very high and it’s a tough task to go through and, initially, cut down 50-80 entrants to a shortlist of 6. Entrants supply about a pound each of cooked and uncooked sausages which are analysed and sampled by the judges. The final 6 are then cooked up fresh for the judges to make the final choice of one winner.

Last year Allan Bennett won. He is pictured below with a selection of the sausages entered into the competition.

As you would imagine for such a competition the judging is taken extremely seriously and I won’t go into the specific details of what we are looking at when judging. After the winner has been selected it’s time to relax with lunch and a guest speaker. Last year it was The Black Farmer who entertained us.
