Butchers to give a cut of earnings to hospice

A BUTCHER’S shop in Tonbridge is offering customers the chance to help out a worthy cause while enjoying a traditional banger this week.

White’s Butchers, in Martin Hardie Way, is giving 50p to the Hospice in the Weald from every pound of sausages it sells between tomorrow and Saturday November 8.

The shop will be giving the money away as part of British Sausage Week, which starts on Monday, and proprietor Ben Stoneley said he expected the total to reach £400.

“It’s a local charity and I know that it is run off charity work, so we thought that we’d give something back to the community,” Mr Stoneley said.

The chance to help the hospice will be on all Mr Stoneley’s sausages, which come in plain pork, Cumberland, pork and leek, Lincolnshire, pork, cider and apple, pork, Larkin’s ale and hops, pork and chilli, and pork cheddar and chive flavours.

Mr Stoneley added that customers who had heard about the offer had been keen to support the hospice.
