A multi-cultural sausage stuffed with exotic mango, Yorkshire rhubarb and Indian spices will be battling it out in the hunt for Britain’s Landmark Bangers.

The East Meets West concoction has been cooked up by butcher manager Lee Scott at Keelham Farm Shop, Thornton, Bradford, for British Sausage Week next month.

The shop has also put together the Keelham Stouter, capturing the taste of one of the region’s best stouts.

The competition, organised by the British Sausage Appreciation Society, aims to find the best locally-sourced and flavoured sausages.

Lee said the idea of the East Meets West sausage was born out of Bradford’s status as the curry capital of England.

“The sausages are ever so slightly spicy,” he said. “It represents modern Yorkshire food.”
