Butcher offers sausages for return of stolen pig

A BEMUSED butcher is offering a meaty reward for the safe return of a cherished pig stolen from outside his shop.

Martin Rubra, who runs the The Digswell Butcher, is pleading for the return of his precious plastic pig originally brought from Poland.

The baffled meat merchant realised that one of three of his decorative plastic livestock had mysteriously disappeared from outside his shop in Station Road, Digswell, around a month ago.

He is proffering a month’s supply of sausages to the person who brings the pig back to him unharmed.

He said: “It happened during the winter under the cover of darkness when I was in the shop.

“I just hope whoever has pinched him will have a pang of conscience and bring him back to me – it’s a bit mean really.

“Hopefully the sausages will be an incentive.

“The bigger and other small pigs look very lonely without him and the feature outside does not feel the same.

“He looks very distinctive because he has got a small crack in his back.”
