Brownes of Harleston Review

Brownes in Diss were always a favourite for us when we lived in Diss and now we are nearer to Harleston we were delighted when they took over a butchers shop there when the previous owners retired.  We review amazing sausages from all over the country but find there is something far more rewarding about going and visiting your local butcher and having a chat wth them about your sausages.

Pork and leek

At Sausagefans.com we love pork and leek sausages and these were excellent.  They have a good peppery kick and a nice strong leek flavour which is not overpowering so the pork still comes through well.

Pork and mustard

A competition winning sausage!  This sausage was another well balanced example of how it should be done.  The mustard gave it an excellent kick but wasn’t overpowering and despite rich mustard flavour the sausage remained well balanced and wholesome.

Pork and apple

Pork and apple can be a great sausage if done well and Brownes do it very well.  The subtle sweetness of the apple provides a very complimentary mix with the sweet saltyness of the other ingredients.  Highly recommended.
