A Pompey-mad butcher has made a blue banger to mark the club’s first game into Europe.
Steve Humby originally came up with the idea for the FA Cup final but didn’t have time to develop it.
But the award-winning butcher decided the time was now right to mark Thursday’s Uefa Cup match by creating his Pompey Royal Sausages.
The owner of Stephen Humby Butchers in Tangier Road, Baffins, said: ‘It was easy. We just make the normal pork sausage and add blue food colouring.
‘We also got involved with Hampshire Brewery and the sausage contains some of their new beer, Play Up Pompey.’
The life-long Pompey fan and season ticket holder said he can’t wait for the big match. ‘I think it will be 2-0 or 2-1 to Pompey.’
