Black Farmer’s Cookbook

Earlier in the week I got a copy of the Black Farmer’s Cookbook which is brilliant!

Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones paints a lovely picture both with his words and vivid images of farm and food scenes.

The publisher says the following which sums it up far better than I could:

“A wonderful, mouth-watering collection of recipes from the Black Farmer who is famed for his award-winning sausages and meat. He certainly brings us flavours without frontiers as exemplified by Sweet and Spicy Lamb Meatballs; Cajun Blackened Chicken; Star Anise Pork Belly, Venison Fillet with Pine Nut Stuffing and Cassis Sauce; Red Snapper Ceviche and Wild Boar Pie . Wilfred feels there is so much more to meat then just chops and he wants to persuade cooks to widen their horizons with lesser known but equally delicious cuts of meat. Alongside the recipes are fascinating tales from Wilfred’s extraordinary and inspirational life from impoverished background to squaddie, chef, producer of BBC Good Food and finally farmer and politician.”

If you love cookery you will love this book.  Wilfred has a real passion which comes across in the book very strongly.
