Banger near Bangor wins gold

PORK sausages made by a North Wales firm have been awarded a gold in an industry award for the best pub banger.

The perfect porkers made by Roberts of Port Dinorwic Ltd, based at Griffiths Crossing, Caernarfon, won the BPEX Foodservice Best Pub Pork Sausage Award.

This follows last year’s success when the company won silver for its Cumberland Meat Balls with Black Pudding.

Trading Director Miriam Williams said the Roberts pork sausages were made to a traditional recipe using secret ingredients developed by the company since it began making sausages in 1924.

She said: “It is through the dedication and commitment of our staff that we are able to win prestigious awards such as this gold medal.

“Our sausages have long had a terrific reputation and it’s satisfying to see this recognised at national level.

“It also shows that our family-owned businesses can compete with the biggest national companies.”
